LN Residence: A Modern Take on Urban Neighborhood Living

Designers Muchuan Xu, Minxi Cai, and Junjie Li Create a Unique Urban Living Experience

The LN Residence is located in Guangzhou's modern science park, a central area in the development strategy of Guangzhou and a demonstration base for high-tech industries. The residence offers a variety of room configurations, ranging from one room and one living room to three rooms and one living room, with sizes varying from 64 to 140 square meters. The design team made rational use of every inch of space, ensuring perfect functional zoning.

The designers drew inspiration from the urban appearance of Guangzhou, extracting square boxes as design elements to create a shared space that reshapes the urban neighborhood relationship. This shared space extends throughout the lobby bar, restaurant, gym, and multi-function meeting room, offering a warm, quality, and fun environment for its residents.

The design is realized using new terrazzo, a popular material in recent years due to its cost-effectiveness, seamless mark, arbitrary color matching, and aesthetic appeal. This material choice aligns with the project's positioning as a Youth Apartment Hotel, catering to a younger demographic that appreciates new and modern elements.

The project, which started in March 2020 and completed in January 2021, faced several challenges due to the variety of room configurations and sizes. However, the design team successfully created a shared space that meets the needs of different business or long-term living groups, bringing a soft and sweet lifestyle to busy urbanites.

The LN Residence project was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, a testament to the designers' creativity and ingenuity. The award recognizes outstanding creations that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
